Opus 2 Reporting
About Us
Graham Smith, the founder of LiveNote, the most widely used litigation software product in the world, has set up Opus 2 Reporting, a new court reporting service that will be used by law firms and Government bodies around the world.

Until now LiveNote has been available outside North America only through one supplier. Clients now have a choice of supplier, as we are licensed to provide the LiveNote service to companies and governments involved in litigation, arbitration, public inquiries and major criminal trials, commencing 15 March 2008.

Our founder, Graham Smith-Bernal, created LiveNote back in 1990 as a service differentiator for his court reporting business (Smith Bernal). The product rapidly took off and in 1994 LiveNote set up its operation in the US. In 2003 LiveNote became the most widely used litigation software product in the world.

Graham, who sold his original court reporting business to WordWave (which was in turn later acquired by the Merrill Corporation)  says: “LiveNote has transformed the way lawyers and judges manage evidence in major litigation and public inquires around the world, making everything run smoother and quicker.

To date, however, it has only been in the United Sates of America that the client has a choice of service provider. From March, Opus 2 will provide the UK, Far East and Australian markets with a choice and a service culture based on relationship building and delivering a quality product at a reasonable price”.

The LiveNote product is now owned by the Thomson Corporation.

Opus 2 is based in Central Court, just off Chancery Lane and plans are already under way to open offices in Hong Kong and Australia by the end of the year.
